We notice that when leakage occurs in any part of the electrical equipment, the leakage current flows through the metal shell to the ground wire PE. We notice that the ground wire PE is connected with the neutral wire at the starting end, so the leakage current will be amplified into the short-circuit current from the phase wire to the neutral wire, and its value is large, so the overcurrent protection device (circuit breaker or fuse) in the line will perform line protection and cut off the line. We call this function indirect protection of leakage protection. This function is very important. It is equivalent to preventing trouble before it happens: when electric leakage occurs to electrical equipment, it can cut off the circuit and protect it before the human body touches it.
